Quick Caramel Sauce

Quick and easy caramel sauce that is to die for on pancakes or waffles, amazing drizzled over ice cream, delicious spooned on to cake. Possibilities are endless.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick Butter or 4 tbsp
  • 1 cup Dark brown sugar Light can also be used
  • 3/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a small sauce pan, add all ingredients. Cook on a low to medium heat. 

  2. Bring to a slow boil, whisking here and there.

  3. Boil until sauce has reached desired thickness. If you like it thinner, less time. Thicker, keep boiling unit reduced and thick, whisking throughout.

Recipe Notes

Store in the container of your choice. 
Reheating:
If using sauce stored in a mason  jar, heat in microwave, 30 seconds at a time and spoon on to the desired treat.
If not storing in a mason jar, place desired amount into a sauce pan, thinning with milk or heavy cream to desired consistency.
