Sweet Italian Dressing

Sweet Italian Dressing

Savory. Sweet. A touch of spice. The trifecta of dressings 🙌🏻 I mean what else can I say? Except hurry up and make a big ol' bowl of salad and get to pourin'.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Basil Dried
  • 1 tsp Poppy seeds
  • 1 tbsp Onion juice Requires one whole onion
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp tsp Red chili flakes
  • 1/3 cup Apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, bring apple cider vinegar and sugar to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat, pour into to a measuring cup and place in freezer while making the rest of dressing. Make sure liquid is cooled completely.

  2. Using a citrus juicer (I like this one), slice onion in half and juice until you have 1 tbsp worth. Depending on how juicy your onion is, you may have to juice the other half of the onion.

  3. In a bowl, whisk together all ingredients, except for vinegar/sugar in freezer. Once completely mixed, remove vinegar/sugar mixture from freezer (should be cool, not frozen) and whisk into dressing mixture.

    Chill one hour and serve.
