Mr. Goodbark

Mr. Goodbark

So you thought peppermint bark was the only way to go, huh? Knowing my husband isn’t a huge fan of peppermint bark, I wanted him to have a sweet treat that he would love as well. So I took one of his favorite candy bars and made it into a spin off bark for him. Milk chocolate, peanuts and sea salt, and within minutes, you’ll have yourself homemade candy that makes it look like you’ve slaved all day.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Milk chocolate chips I use Ghiradelli’s
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted peanuts Smashed
  • Sea salt Desired amount

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a ziplock baggie, add peanuts. Using a meat mallet (or whatever you’d like to use that will work to smash the peanuts), pound out the peanuts until  you have a variation of sizes, bigger bits, smaller bits and peanut dust.

  3. In a microwave safe bowl, add chocolate chips and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until they’re fully melted.

  4. Working quickly, spread chocolate on to cookie sheet into a rectangle and about 1/4 inch thick.

  5. Next, sprinkle desired amount of peanuts. Then sprinkle desired amount of sea salt (you don’t want TOO much salt).

  6. Place in freezer for 30 minutes.

Remove. Using your hands, break apart the bark into pieces and serve.
