Garlic Parmesan Rice

 

Garlic Parmesan Rice

Rice with that little extra somethin'. Creamy and cheesy and even a little lemon squeezy.

Ingredients

  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1/2 Onion Diced
  • 5 tbsp Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Long grain rice
  • 2 cups Chicken Stock Or chicken broth
  • 1 cup Milk 2% or Whole milk
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Shredded
  • 5 tbsp Chives Finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp Lemon juice Fresh

Instructions

  1. Dice onion, set aside.

  2. Mince garlic, set aside.

  3. In a medium/large saute pan (with accompanying lid), melt butter. Add onion and sauté for 3 minutes. Add rice and brown until golden. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.

  4. To the pan, add chicken stock and milk. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, place lid on pan and cook 20 minutes.

  5. Chop chives, set aside.

  6. When rice is done, remove from heat and set aside. After 15 minutes of rest, remove lid and stir in parmesan, lemon juice and chives. 

  7. Serve and enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness.

Recipe Notes

Add ins like chicken or beef are a great option, to make this a complete meal.
