Eggnog Caramel Sauce

Eggnog Caramel Sauce

If you love caramel sauce and you love eggnog, this ones for you! One of the things I love about Christmas time is eggnog. I love to drink it, make bread out of it, it's just so good. Caramel sauce is one of my family's favorite things to put on pancakes, french toast and even ice cream. So when I added eggnog to the mix? They were in love! Try it before the holidays are over and sadly, eggnog is gone until next year. Which brings me to... maybe I should try making eggnog on my own? If I do, I'll share it with you!

  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • !/2 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Store bought eggnog
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a small sauce pot, add brown sugar, butter, eggnog, vanilla and salt. Cook over medium heat, whisking throughout. Mixture will come to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, and cook until thickened. Add cinnamon and nutmeg, remove from heat and serve.

Recipe Notes

For later use, I store eggnog caramel sauce in a mason jar, refrigerated. When ready to use, remove lid and microwave jar of sauce for 30 seconds or until desired heat is achieved, and pour over pancakes, french toast, ice cream or whatever floats your boat.
