Ingredients

Crisp Filling

  • 1 Pie Shell Pre-made
  • 12 Apples Any
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Pie Spice
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg

Crisp Topping

  • 1 1/4 cups Flour
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp Corn Starch
  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted

Instructions

Crisp Filling

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Spray a pie dish with nonstick cooking spray.

  3. Unroll pie shell. Place pie shell into pie dish, using fingers to gently push shell into all available space. At the top of shell, pinch crust edges to make it look pretty.

  4. Peel and slice 12 apples, by hand or by peeler. Place into a very large mixing bowl. To the bowl, add sugar, cinnamon, pie spice and nutmeg. Stir until well mixed.

  5. Next, pour apple mixture into pie dish, carefully using a spoon to place apples so as to evenly pile into dish. Set aside.

Crisp Topping

  1. In a medium sized mixing bowl, melt butter.

  2. In an additional medium bowl, add flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cornstarch. Using a fork, mix dry ingredients together.

  3. Now, add dry ingredients into bowl of melted butter. Using a fork, mixed together until topping is clumped together, but into smaller, crumbly pieces.

  4. By the spoonful, sprinkle crisp topping over pie filling, carefully getting the crisp topping into all of the apples nooks and crannies.

  5. Bake at 350 for one hour, or until apples are fork tender.
